Call for Abstracts

BSN 2026 also calls and accepts 1 page abstracts, in addition to 4 page full papers. Abstracts offer a valuable opportunity for researchers and students to participate in the conference, present and discuss their work, and engage with the broader community. This is a particularly interesting modality for contributors who wish to share preliminary or ongoing work in an interactive setting. Please note that accepted abstracts will be presented at the conference but will not be considered for IEEE Xplore publication. All submissions must be written in English.

This submission can be either:

  1. Technical Abstracts: focused on engineering contributions such as novel sensors, algorithms, signal processing methods, electronic designs, wearable system architectures, power optimization strategies, and other hands-on technical developments in digital health.
  2. Clinical Abstracts: focused on clinical studies, outcomes, real world applicability, and translation of digital health technologies to patient care. Submissions in this modality must include at least one clinician coauthor.

All abstracts are required to follow the Conference template (Word or Latex) and are limited to 1 page, including all related sections and references. Abstracts are expected to follow the same evaluation process as full papers, meaning a single blind review process where at least two reviewers are expected to contribute to the evaluation.

Submission Timeline:

BSN 2026 offers two submission rounds for abstracts:

  1. Regular submission: aligned with the full paper deadline in June, for authors who want early planning and confirmation of acceptance.
  2. Late breaking submission: a later deadline in August, for authors with recent results or work in progress that was not yet ready for the first round.

With these two rounds, BSN 2026 aims to provide early predictability, including for travel and booking arrangements, while ensuring that no relevant or late breaking contribution is left behind.

Abstract submissions are particularly suited for preliminary or promising work that would benefit from early discussion within the community, while still preserving future publication and research development opportunities. To support this, abstracts will not be made publicly available beyond their presentation at the conference. Although submissions will be handled through OpenReview, they will not be publicly accessible online, and neither the abstracts nor the associated reviews and comments will be disclosed. This ensures a confidential evaluation process while enabling meaningful scientific exchange during the event.
