We look forward to welcoming you to BSN 2026 and to your participation in the technical program.
Please carefully follow the instructions below when preparing and uploading your camera-ready submission. Please note that the instructions below are primarily intended for accepted full papers. However, accepted abstracts must also comply with the applicable final submission requirements. In particular, at least one author must register for the conference, the submitted work must be original, the list of authors and affiliations must be verified, and the required abstract template and formatting guidelines must be followed.
Section A: REGISTRATION PAYMENT
To guarantee inclusion of an accepted contribution in the conference program and the IEEE proceedings, if regular paper, at least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference according to the BSN 2026 author registration rules.
Registration information and author registration rules are available at: https://bsn.embs.org/2026/registration/
Authors are responsible for selecting the correct registration category and completing payment before the applicable deadline.
Section B: SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Presentation requirement
To be eligible for publication in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, each accepted paper must be presented at BSN 2026 by one of its authors or by an approved substitute presenter. Papers that are not presented at the conference may be excluded from submission to IEEE Xplore in accordance with IEEE publication policies. Authors who anticipate difficulties in presenting their paper must contact the BSN 2026 organizing committee as soon as possible at: [email protected]
- Camera-ready submission deadline
The final camera-ready paper must be submitted in PDF format.
The final paper must be uploaded through the BSN 2026 OpenReview submission site using the “Camera-Ready Revision” available in the author console.
Due to the IEEE publication schedule, extensions cannot be guaranteed. Authors should complete all steps, including registration, PDF validation, copyright submission, and the OpenReview upload, well before the deadline.
- Revision of the accepted paper
Authors must carefully prepare the revised final version of their paper and take the reviewers’ and area chairs’ comments into account. The camera-ready version should address relevant technical, methodological, presentation, and formatting concerns raised during the review process.
Authors should ensure that:
- appropriate corrections and clarifications have been incorporated,
- typographical, grammatical, and formatting errors have been corrected,
- figures, tables, equations, and references are complete and legible,
- all statements and results are supported by the content of the paper and
- the paper remains consistent with the accepted contribution.
The final submission should not introduce substantial new material that changes the main scope, claims, or identity of the accepted paper without prior approval from the program chairs.
- Author and affiliation information
Because the review process was conducted under anonymous or double-anonymous review conditions, authors must restore all information that was removed from the review version.
The final paper must include:
- the complete names of all authors,
- the correct author order,
- institutional affiliations,
- author email addresses, where required by the template,
- acknowledgments, where applicable,
- funding information, where applicable,
- conflict-of-interest disclosures, where applicable, and
- any other information required for the published version.
The author list should normally remain consistent with the accepted submission. Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors may require written justification and approval from the BSN 2026 program chairs.
- IEEE template and formatting requirements
The final paper must comply with the official IEEE conference formatting requirements. Authors must use the IEEE conference paper template available at: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html
Please ensure that:
- the correct IEEE conference template is used,
- the paper is prepared in the required two-column format,
- the page size is set correctly,
- all fonts are embedded in the PDF,
- the text and figures remain within the permitted margins,
- figures and tables are readable at their final publication size,
- the paper does not contain page numbers, headers, or footers unless explicitly required,
- the paper does not contain bookmarks, security restrictions, or embedded multimedia,
- the final page count complies with the BSN 2026 paper-length policy and
- any permitted additional-page fees have been paid, where applicable.
The maximum permitted paper length is four (4) pages.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the final manuscript meets all IEEE and BSN 2026 formatting requirements.
- Plagiarism and publication-integrity checks
All final papers may be screened using the IEEE CrossCheck system or another similarity-detection service approved by IEEE. Substantial overlap with previously published or simultaneously submitted material may result in further investigation and possible exclusion from the proceedings.
- Finality of the submitted manuscript
Once the camera-ready submission deadline has passed, the uploaded version will be treated as final. The final submitted manuscript will be used for:
- inclusion in the conference proceedings,
- distribution to conference participants,
- preparation of the technical program and
- submission to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
Authors must carefully inspect the complete PDF before uploading it. Requests for manual replacement or correction of the final manuscript after the deadline may not be accepted. This includes requests to correct author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, figures, references, typographical errors, or other manuscript content.
Section C: IEEE XPLORE COMPLIANCE PROCEDURE
Before uploading camera ready version, the author must check if the paper complies with IEEE standards. Only by confirming this it will be possible to be published on IEEE Xplore. After generating the PDF version of your camera ready publication, please use the IEEE PDF eXpress® platform to validate it. Please follow the following steps:
Step 1: Open IEEE PDF eXpress: https://ieee-pdf-express.org/External/UsingIEEEPDFeXpress
Step 2: Enter the BSN 2026 conference ID: 71007X
Step 3: Create an account or sign in.
New users must create an IEEE PDF eXpress account using the BSN 2026 conference ID. Returning users may sign in using their existing PDF eXpress credentials and add the BSN 2026 conference by entering the conference ID. An IEEE PDF eXpress account is separate from an IEEE account, an OpenReview account, and the conference registration account.
Step 4: Upload or create the PDF
Use IEEE PDF eXpress to either check an existing PDF for IEEE Xplore compliance or create a compliant PDF from an accepted source-file format. Follow the instructions shown in PDF eXpress and resolve all reported errors.
Common compliance problems include:
- missing or non-embedded fonts,
- incorrect page dimensions,
- content outside the permitted margins,
- incompatible graphics,
- transparency problems,
- security restrictions,
- incorrect PDF versions and
- unsupported metadata or embedded content.
Step 5: Download the approved PDF
After the file has passed the PDF eXpress validation process, download the approved PDF. Open the downloaded file and verify that:
- all pages are present,
- the author names and affiliations are correct,
- all fonts and symbols are displayed correctly,
- equations have been rendered correctly,
- figures and tables are complete and readable,
- hyperlinks do not obscure the text,
- no content has shifted during PDF conversion and
- the appropriate IEEE copyright notice is present, where required.
Step 6: Upload the approved PDF to OpenReview
Return to the BSN 2026 OpenReview submission site and upload the PDF that has successfully passed the IEEE PDF eXpress check. Do not upload an earlier, unverified, or subsequently modified version. If the PDF is changed after it has passed the PDF eXpress check, the modified PDF must be validated again before it is uploaded to OpenReview.
IMPORTANT NOTE: VALIDATING A PDF THROUGH IEEE PDF EXPRESS AND SUBMITTING THE CAMERA-READY PAPER THROUGH OPENREVIEW ARE TWO SEPARATE PROCEDURES.
Completing the PDF eXpress check does not submit the paper to BSN 2026. After receiving a compliant PDF from IEEE PDF eXpress, authors must return to the BSN 2026 OpenReview site and complete the camera-ready submission.
SECTION D: IEEE ELECTRONIC COPYRIGHT FORM
A completed IEEE copyright agreement is required for every paper included in the conference proceedings.
Authors will complete the copyright process through the IEEE Electronic Copyright Form, also referred to as the “IEEE eCF workflow”. The copyright link is made available through the BSN 2026 OpenReview author console.
The designated corresponding author should follow the on-screen instructions and complete the copyright form on behalf of all authors.
Authors should ensure that:
- the paper title matches the final submission,
- the author information is correct,
- the appropriate employment and copyright status is selected,
- all required declarations are completed and
- confirmation of the completed copyright submission is retained.
Completing the IEEE copyright form does not replace the requirement to upload the final paper to OpenReview. Similarly, uploading the camera-ready paper to OpenReview does not complete the IEEE copyright process. Both steps must be completed by the applicable deadline.
Section E: OPENREVIEW CAMERA-READY SUBMISSION
The final camera-ready manuscript must be uploaded through the BSN 2026 OpenReview author console. Before uploading the paper, confirm that:
- the author registration requirement has been satisfied,
- all reviewer comments have been appropriately considered,
- all author and affiliation details have been restored,
- the manuscript uses the correct IEEE conference template,
- the page limit and formatting rules have been followed,
- the PDF has passed IEEE PDF eXpress using conference ID 71007X,
- the IEEE copyright process has been completed or initiated as instructed,
- the paper title and author list are consistent across all systems and
- the final PDF has been opened and visually inspected.
Section F: PRACTICAL NOTES FOR AUTHORS
- Begin the final-submission process early. Registration, PDF validation, and copyright processing may require separate accounts and several steps.
- Do not assume that a successful PDF eXpress check automatically uploads the paper to OpenReview.
- Do not upload a PDF that has been edited after it passed PDF eXpress unless it is validated again.
- Use the same paper title and author order in the manuscript, OpenReview, the copyright form, and the registration record.
- Verify the spelling and capitalization of all author names. These details may be transferred directly to IEEE Xplore.
- Check that all fonts, equations, mathematical symbols, images, and special characters display correctly in the final PDF.
- Retain confirmation emails and receipts for registration, copyright completion, PDF validation, and final submission.
- Direct questions concerning manuscript preparation and publication requirements to the BSN 2026 publication chairs rather than IEEE PDF eXpress technical support, unless the issue specifically concerns the PDF eXpress system.
Failure to complete any required publication step by the applicable deadline may result in the paper being excluded from the BSN 2026 proceedings and from submission to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
