The BSN 2026 organizing team has gathered a selection of local activities and experiences that participants may wish to explore in the days surrounding the conference. These suggestions are intended to help attendees discover Porto beyond the scientific programme, with different options depending on interests and availability. Participation is entirely optional, and all bookings, payments, and arrangements are made independently by participants directly with the respective providers. Boat Trip: Barcadouro – Douro River Cruises
Address: Departures from Porto / Vila Nova de Gaia, depending on the selected cruise
Conditions:

  • A range of regular cruises is available, from short city cruises of around 1 hour to half-day and full-day trips further along the Douro Valley
  • Routes, schedules, prices, and availability vary depending on the selected programme and date
  • Individual booking and payment must be made directly with Barcadouro
Details:

  • Barcadouro offers several ways to experience the Douro, including shorter cruises such as the Six Bridges and Foz do Douro, as well as longer journeys towards destinations such as Régua and Pinhão
  • Depending on the programme, trips may range from approximately 55 minutes to several hours or a full day, with some longer options including meals on board and complementary return transport
