Glasgow, Scotland
Glasgow is a vibrant, modern city that evolved from the various cultures and communities that have habited the area for millennia. Surrounding the River Clyde, the city is said to be uniquely “big enough to be a city, small enough to be a village”. Despite its size, Glasgow and the people that have called it home have made a global impact. Charles Rennie Mackintosh was born and educated in the city that now celebrates his work at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, House for an Art Lover and the Hunterian Art Gallery at the University of Glasgow.
As we celebrate EMBC 2022 we will do so in the city where the world’s first Radiology department was formed and where obstetric ultrasound was developed to name just a few of the engineering and medical advances related to the city.
There is much more to see in Scotland and if you are interested in taking a sightseeing tour further afield before or after the conference, Glasgow Convention Bureau have arranged special discount codes with their member companies. These small group tours leave from Glasgow and are a great way to get a taste of Scotland, from lochs and castles to whisky distilleries and unique visitor attractions. More details can be obtained from the Glasgow Convention Bureau information desk at the conference.
