Biography

Felip Burgos is a senior researcher of IDIBAPS, respiratory scientist in the Respiratory Diagnostic Center of Respiratory Department in Hospital Clínic, University of Barcelona, Spain. He received a master’s degree in respiratory medicine from the University of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra and the PhD degree from University of Barcelona in 2013. Associate Professor (Biomedical Engineering) at University of Barcelona.  During the last 30 years, he has been involved in Lung Function Laboratory in several topics, specially related to reference values and standardization of lung function methodology. He has published over 80 original manuscripts, editorials and reviews and 28 book chapters (Impact Factor 363 and h-index= 25).  He is co-organizer of an annual Spanish Postgraduate Course (Pulmonary Function Testing) sponsored by the Department of Medicine, University of Barcelona, He was a Research Fellow at Harbor-UCLA in Torrance. He is also a regular member of the ERS-ATS Pulmonary Function Standards Committee. He was former Chairman of the “Respiratory measurements and technology” Scientific Group of the European Respiratory Society (ERS).

His actual research interests involve the study of aspects of lung function, telemedicine and chronicity.
